St Noa Girls Zana Netball team

As the dates for the highly awaited 2019 Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) games get closer, preparations by both the organizers and the teams have taken center stage as the yellow fever vaccination and flag off were held today, Tuesday, the 13th August 2019.
The head of State, His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni flagged off team Uganda at State House Entebbe. Over 840 participants are set to complete in seven (7) sports disciplines for both girls and boys that commence on Saturday, the 16th August in Arusha-Tanzania.
With the hopes of staging a proper and standard tournament, the competition draws were held to early, on Tuesday 6th, August 2019, at Old Kampala Secondary School, the same venue that has hosted the vaccination activity today, the 13th August.
The netball defending champions, St Noa Girls Secondary School, ZZana who were pitted in Group A, alongside Uganda’s netball giants, Buddo SS, Omonge (Burundi), Nyakatatiwi (Kenya), and Tanzania’s Kiringi where she will start her tittle defence journey.
The all-time East African and Uganda national champions, St Mary’s Kitende, have were put in Group B, with Uganda’s Ngando SS, the latter set to feature for their first time in the championship, Nyakachi (Kenya), and Tanzania’s Musungwi.
This year’s edition will be the 18th edition, and is set to take place from 16th to 25th August 2019 in Arusha, Tanzania.
St Noa beat the most successful team in St Mary’s Kitende in the championship in last year’s final played in Masanze, Rwanda.
St Mary’s Kitende beat St Noa Girls Secondary School to defend the national title in Soroti this year.
Uganda will be represented by four (4) teams, that is, Buddo SS, St Mary’s Kitende, Ngando SS, and St Noa Girls Secondary School, Zana.
