Ayub Summons 30 Ahead Of U17 COSAFA Women Championship

The newly appointed Uganda Women U17 football team head coach, Ayub Khalifa, has, today, summoned provisional squad of thirty (30) ladies ahead of the inaugural COSAFA U17 Women Championship set to kickoff on 20th to 29th September 2019 in Mauritius.

Uganda, who were pitted in Group A with the hosts, Mauritius, Zambia, and Comoros, will play their first game against Zambia on 20th September 2019 at St Francisco Xavier Stadium, with the second game set to be played on 22nd September 2019 against Mauritius, and the third and last game in the group against Comoros on 24th September 20, with both of the last two games set to be played at the AMF Technical Facility.

The team will enter a ten (10) day residential training from 8th to 17th September 2019 at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, with two planned trial games, with the opponents set to be played yet to be identified, with the games set to be played on Wednesday 11th and Saturday 15th, September 2019 at the same venue.

Players were majorly selected from the schools competitions ( Ball Games one), the ongoing Airtel Rising Stars, regional leagues, and a few from the FUFA Women Elite League.

Only 20 players will make the travelling squad to Mauritius.
