After Uganda Christian University confirmed their slot at the 2019 University football league final set to be held on Sunday 03rd November 2019 at Namboole, the 2017 defending champions, Uganda Martyrs University also prefer to reach final and in that they target to display an attacking game on Friday.

UMU at Nkozi playground, they will be hosting St Lawrence University on Friday 18th October for a return leg of Semifinal following a one all draw at Kavule last week.

We going to display an attacking football through out the game because it’s the best way of defending” Ssali Anthony told media at the press briefing held at Kati Kati Restaurant Lugogo on Thursday morning.

On that even day, it’s when we celebrating UMU day, of 26 years in existence, so I call upon all our fans to come and celebrate as we winning the game to reach final” he added.

UMU skipper, Mutaawe Athanas also believes that they can win the game to storm Final though he admitted that St Lawrence is also a strong team.

Among the three teams that are still in the race, it’s only us who have ever won this title, so we going to work hard that we don’t miss final despite the fact that that SLAU is also a good side. ” Mutaawe said.

The first leg saw two sides sharing spoils of one all and any kind of goalless stalemate will see UMU through to final.

However, St Lawrence University tactician, Davis Nono Ssozi asserted that they are also ready for the game despite the fact that their key players in Kiryowa George  and Nkonge Saziri but he insists that his side has enough qualify to encounter any team in the league.

We are ready for the game, we have enough qualify to encounter any team in the league, our challenge will be defending but scoring is not our problem because we have scored in any game we played this season. ” Said David Nnono.

The game will be at Nkozi playground on Friday 18th October, any win for St Lawrence will get them through to their first ever final.
